Eagle Point Ski Resort to open December 15, 2010

December 9th, 2010

I thought it would be fun to share this information on the new ski resort up Beaver Mountain, only 90 miles from St George, Utah.  Check it out!

“Eagle Point, a new ski resort located outside of Beaver, Utah, is slated to open for the 2010/2011 season.

Eagle Point has been established on the site of the former Elk Meadows Ski Resort. With extensive renovations to two lodges, reconditioned lifts, and other significant infrastructure improvements, Eagle Point will be welcoming skiers and snowboarders beginning mid December of 2010.

“We wanted to create a place that would offer more than just great skiing,” said Shane Gadbaw, Eagle Point’s chief executive officer. “Our goal is also to be family friendly, deliver outstanding dining, amenities and service, and appeal to those who might be looking to get away from the crowds.”

Located in the Tushar Mountains, one of Utah’s tallest ranges, Eagle Point will open as an affordable family snowsport destination. Its 36 trails are a mix of beginner, intermediate, and expert terrain, with a halfpipe and significant backcountry opportunities, all taking advantage of an average snowfall of 400 inches per year”.

To My RVing and Boating Friends!

July 31st, 2010

The Paria Canyon is a rainbow of colors with 1,000-foot high walls that provide outstanding scenic vistas and hiking opportunites. Bring your camera into the ghost town of Paria and you’ll come back with memories you can show your friends. There are many pictographs and petroglyphs. A portion is in a BLM primitive area. Remember to pack a lunch, because the general store in the Paria ghost town hasn’t been open for tens of years.
